Our family.

Dad is Learning is written by Jon, that’s me.  Our family lives in Texas.  My wife and I have been married for 8 years and have known each other since we were little kids.  We have two young daughters who are constantly challenging me to grow and learn more about myself.  I work as a minister and have a few other hobbies that bring in a bit of extra cash.

Dad is Learning is a site for anyone who likes to learn something new everyday.  When you stop and think about it, we all learn so much everyday if we are actively engaged in life.  Some of the things we learn about are really important, other things are fun and still other things really don’t matter.  I’ll be writing about all those things on here, I’ll let you decide whether they are really important, fun or really don’t matter.

Much of the learning in life doesn’t come from books (well textbooks at least).  School is important and the structure and discipline of completing coursework is very necessary.  But as an adult it is fun to learn about life!  Trying to explain things to small children, figuring out how to fix things around the house, learning how to make relationships work, trying to figure out what makes people tick.  Life is a grand adventure and we are blessed to have another day of learning everyday we wake up.
